This error massage could happen if only you attempt to migrate your website instead of simple restoration. Migration is not just restoration. All database is being refactored to be compatible to the new environment in case of migration. The migration feature is included only in Pro versions, that’s why such exception could happen when you attempt to migrate the website using Free version.

@ezflyr If you are trying to download the backup file but the browser displays a large quantity of garbled text instead, then you can fix this problem by adding your custom MIME types in your hosting dashboard. Please try to add sgbp extension as application/octet-stream, this should help you with the issue.

Can you please make sure you have successfully installed the Pro version? It seems like you haven’t installed the pro version yet and are still running BackupGuard Free.
Please double check you have correctly followed these steps:
Login to your personal dashboard here: https://backup-guard.com (your credentials were sent to you via email)
Navigate to “Products” section and download the Pro package
Follow the instructions to link your website
Login to WordPress and uninstall Free version from your dashboard
Install the downloaded Pro version of the plugin like described in the link: https://backup-guard.com/products/backup-wordpress/doc/install-backupguard-pro
Login to BackupGuard plugin with the same credentialsThat’s it! You’ve successfully installed and authorized your Pro version.
P.S. And one final thing, try to clear your browser cache, this could also cause the installation to fail.

In reply to: [JetBackup - Backup, Restore & Migrate] Blank Screen – no backup buttons@adventurequalifications The issue you’re experiencing usually happens when BackupGuard plugin conflicts with another plugins or theme. Usually these are non well developed plugins (e.g. we’ve found plugins called “Simple Calendar” and “Gmail SMTP” which use php autoload functionality which is not recommended in WordPress plugin development). To determine which plugin is causing malfunction please disable all the plugins and re-enable them one by one thus detecting the problematic plugin. As the issue is a conflict with another plugin and has nothing to do with BackupGuard, we highly recommend reporting the issue to that plugin developers.
