OK but I’ve been running those WordPress websites for years now and did not have a single problem upgrading until now… I still think there’s a bug they ought to fix. It looks like there’s a lot of us out there having the same problem…
So thanks to this post (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28598547/wordpress-core-update-fail) it’s a little bit more verbose now and I get:

Installation Failed
My wp-content/uploads folder has 777 rights though.
