In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] LIKE IT WITH ONE IRRATANTHi,
Thank you for the review.
There is an option to disable automatic updates, in the UpdraftPlus settings.
If you scroll to the bottom of the settings page and press “Show expert settings” inside there will be a checkbox to disable automatic backups before an update.
Don’t forget to save settings.
If you don’t want to permanently disable automatic backups before an update, then there should also be a notice on the WordPress updates page with a checkbox labeled:
“Automatically backup (where relevant) plugins, themes and the WordPress database with UpdraftPlus before updating”
Uncheck this to disabled updates one time (e.g you have to uncheck this every time you visit this page).
You can see a screenshot of what this notice is supposed to look like here:
https://updraftplus.com/automatic-backups/
If the above does not work for some reason then please do open a support request here:

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Delete Google Drive savingHi,
Make sure you are logged into the correct Google account.
Then access the following link:
https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup
You should see a “Third-party access” section, click that.
You should then see apps with access to your account, look for UpdraftPlus and use the “Remove access” button.

Ashley
Hi @maxgorky
If you are having problems with your backup then please open your own support request and provide your backup log.
That article you posted has nothing to do with taking backups, it’s an issue where a security rule is incorrectly being triggered when settings are saved in UpdraftPlus.
We asked the user to work with their host to resolve it as it is not something we control.

Ashley
Hi @mari3000
Could you describe exactly what your issue is?
What is good scheduling and what is bad scheduling?
We have recently made a change in UpdraftPlus free version where when you first save settings for a scheduled backup it will choose a time between 9pm and 7am as these are likely hours the site will not be in use so the backup is more likely to succeed.
If your backups are running at the expected time but are failing then please do send the backup log so we can check why.

Ashley

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Dropbox 400 errorHi,
You need to update to the latest version of the plugin
Free version 1.16.41
Premium version 2.16.41.X

Hi,
Backups are either stored on your websites server or if you have configured remote storage for example Dropbox, they will then be stored at Dropbox.
A migration via our addon will send a backup from one site you own to another site you own.
A UpdraftClone will clone your entire site to a sandbox server we own.
If you have any pre sale questions they should be asked here:
https://updraftplus.com/ask-a-pre-sales-question/

Hi,
What hosting are you with?
That guide is for inmotion and was just meant as a general guide to point you in the correct location.

Hi,
This sounds like at some point WordPress failed to successfully update the plugin, as a result the folder and some files may still exist at the location above.
You will need to manually remove the updraftplus folder from your plugins directory once done you will then be able to reinstall updraftplus from WordPress.
Your UpdraftPlus settings and backups will be safe as they are stored somewhere else.
To remove the folder will depend on what you have access to with your hosting.
It will normally be either cPanel or FTP/SFTP.
A general guide for both of these methods can be found here:

Hi both,
Can you check if your scheduled backups work on version 1.16.37?
There was an issue in 1.16.36 that was stopping scheduled backups from running sorry about that.
It should all work on 1.16.37 but if you have any issues I can help.

Ashley

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Plugin Keeps deleting itselfHi,
Is it possible your hosts have banned backup plugins and they are automatically removing it, could you check with them?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay over the weekend.
Please do open your own support request here:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/updraftplus/#new-topic-0
To debug your site I would start by turning on WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG, then checking the log file for any errors to point in the right direction for the issue your having.
See a guide here:
https://wpactivitylog.com/enabling-wordpress-debug/
You can also ask your hosts to check if theres anything in the PHP error logs.
Finally you should check your developer console in the browser a guide for that here:

Hi,
Sorry for the delay during the weekend.
If your having a problem with your site I would need to see the exact error message from your WordPress or PHP error logs.
It sounds like WordPress Core may have failed to update the plugin?
Which is why you reinstalled via FTP?
As for “my site is still not connecting to the dashboard on the Updraft Plus site.” do you mean your trying to connect the plugin to our site for updates?
Do you see any error message?
Could you try again but this time with your browsers developer console open and share a screenshot of it’s contents here:
https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-do-i-open-my-browsers-developer-tools/
Best Wishes,
Ashley
