In reply to: Twenty Fourteen Theme Gone Hypenation CrazyHello!
May I give this a little bump?
Hyphenation has gone mad – please stop me going the same way!
Please – how can I turn it off, or calm it down?
Thank you
TonyWow – thanks Metaprinter.
You’re right those widgets are the sort of thing that look nice on a desktop view (how I tend to do it), but clutter things up on tablets & phones (how Google tells me most people view it)
So I will kill them, and see how that helps.Thank you also to Kateva – I shall have a play with your suggestions once I have implemented Mr Printer’s suggestion
Thank you – and best wishes – to you both
Tony
Curses!
Thought I’d got rid of Follow, but I had de-activated, not Deleted.
Completely Deleted, and now adding new accounts fine.Sorry for being a bit thick, and thank you very much for your help.
Have a fine weekend
Tony
On The Subscribers page.
It says “Add/Remove Subscribers”
Then “Enter Addresses, comma separated”
Then a text box (where I put email address)
Then Subscribe and Unsubscribe buttons.I add an email address, press subscribe, but nothing
One final question – I’m trying to add my Subscribers (I’ve got emails from 15 of them)
I add them to the text box, click Subscribe, but nothing happens.
I’m surprised I can’t do something that simple.Oh yes, I see
Well, that’s disappointing, but there we are.
I’ve removed Follow and it’s working fine now, thank you.Do you think the list but recovered from a Sent email?
The email to subscribers must be in a Sent folder somewhere, surely?Thank you
Thank you for the reply – I understand you don’t develop it anymore and appreciate the effort.
How can I recover from mail logs.
Will there be a Sent Items folder somewhere so I can copy the last working one?Program seems to install OK.
When I press Activate I get “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”Warning: require_once(/home/aberevpf/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/follow/classes/class-s2-core.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/aberevpf/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/subscribe2/subscribe2.php on line 69

Hello
Any thoughts on this?
About half way down there’s a bit that goes a proper width (picture of a table, then the menu) – if only the rest could be like that.
Any help making the blog a decent width would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

In reply to: [Twenty Fourteen] Fourteen: Full width custom page templateThere is a max height of 572, which you can control with the 2014 Extended plug-in.
I’m having similar problems myself with all my text down the middle of the page and great swatches of white space on either side.
I’m about to post my own query as yours has gone too advanced for me too quickly.
Good luck

In reply to: Why Are The Layouts So NarrowThank you, that’s looking much better now.
I have a final question, but will open a new query…Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Why Are The Layouts So NarrowPS I’m using
@import url(“../twentythirteen/style.css”);
to pull in the current theme – but of course that gives me no parameters to change.
Should I just copy the whole of the parent style.css in then edit that, or add in the parameters that I want to change from parent to child?
Thanks very much again

In reply to: Why Are The Layouts So NarrowThank you for the advice, WPyogi
Beyond this width business, I’m very happy with the layouts.
What are the key values I need to change – is it max-width=690px?
I see there are various width settings that mentions percentages, are any of those useful too?
Thank you again for your help

Am I talking to myself here – help, I’m drowning…Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Why Are The Layouts So NarrowIt’s very odd.
There’s a big grey block down the middle of the page – how do I get the text to fill that block?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Why Are The Layouts So NarrowIs there an easy way to widen the blog, or can anyone recommend a theme that would suit me better.
“Life Is Simple”?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
