Thanks very much for that suggestion Michelle, that will definitely come in handy someday I’m sure!
I did make some progress with this, however there is still a problem (and I believe it is on-topic still within this thread, but if not I’ll start a new one). I’ll explain…
When I noticed the Vimeography 1.0.8 update alert in Dashboard > Plugins, I ran the update.
Then Dave (the developer of Vimeography) sent me a new (working) link to download Aloha 1.0.3 with instructions to install it.
So, with Vimeography 1.0.8 already installed and activated, I installed the updated Aloha 1.0.3 portion of the plugin as instructed, but that has now left me with the following error on any pages with Vimeography short tags embedded:
Warning: require_once(/home/user/public_html): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/vimeography/lib/renderer.php on line 30
(for security I’ve replaced the actual account username with “user” in the above string).
So for now I’ve disabled the Vimeography plugin so that the pages can at least load, and I’m just left with with short tags displaying like this – [vimeography id=”4″] – on the pages, instead of the more intrusive error I posted above.
I’ve submitted a contact to Dave (the dev) and hoping to hear back from him with suggestions on how to properly get this plugin working again without destroying any existing Vimeography galleries / short tags embedded in the pages.
I’ll be sure to post back here when I hear of a solution just in case it can help anyone else.
I did receive a new email download link and installed Aloha 1.0.3 so that part is resolved.
But now I get the following error on any WP page with Vimeography embedded:
Warning: require_once(/home/user/public_html): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/vimeography/lib/renderer.php on line 30
(of course I replaced the actual username with “user” in the error string above).
And that is with Vimeography 1.0.8 already installed.
I suppose it is best to mark this as resolved since I got a working download link, and I’ll defer to a different thread for the resulting problems from the upgrade.
Sorry Dave (developer) – I don’t mean to add to your support load, I just would like to get things working again.
Thank you,
AnotherDaveDave – I sent you a contact 4 days ago to you (through the form on your site) letting you know that I did get your email regarding the update and I did get the download link, but that the download link does not work.
When I click the download link provided in email, I get an XML error page like this:
AccessDenied<Message>Request has expired</Message><RequestId>969AB02BxxxxxxxF</RequestId><Expires>2013-07-28T17:06:21Z</Expires><HostId>O33zsBXymoJicqRcKLtxxxxxxxLJj50CjdUdz/WMeGlNXz9P1LxxxxxxxzpQrroU</HostId><ServerTime>2013-08-02T14:40:43Z</ServerTime>
I sent you all of the info, plus my receipt / license info / date of purchase / etc… but have heard nothing back.
Given that this is a paid product, I sincerely hope you don’t think it’s acceptable to leave me hanging like this for 4 days and then post publicly it might still take me longer to fix my client’s site because you’re on a trip and I may have to wait a few more days.
Sorry if I sound miffed, but I am.
Same problem here after update to 1.0.8 , and the link I received in email to obtain the updated Aloha that I purchased goes to a dead page.
🙁
Submitted a contact and hoping to get a response soon.Looks like Jeremy resolves this in 1.11 just released – http://wordpress.org/support/topic/broken-on-wp-351#post-4316597

I also forgot to choose WordPress version 3.5 instead of 3.3.1 when I submitted this post, sorry. I’ve corrected that now.
