In reply to: Blogwidow is pretending it’s publishing your blogTry this url before you comment. See what it is doing to your SERPS.

I know it is frames. But do you know that frame components are treated as part of the site by search engines, even if on different servers? Check the url above. It will clarify.

In reply to: Blogwidow is pretending it’s publishing your blogThat not the core issue. The issue is that they are peddling these url’s thereby increasing their SERP’s with our content.

In reply to: Blogwidow is pretending it’s publishing your blogThe problem is much bigger!
They are actually publishing the links on their own probably using some backdoor pages to populate google, yahoo etc.
So now in your search results these sites will come too.Do a search on Google to see how many sites they are hijacking:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogwidow.com%2FThis is clearly not acceptable.
I suggest everyone should write to google about this.
I will do so too.First they are displaying AdSense of sites which contain AdSense on their own site which is against their policy.
Secondly they are literally stealing our content and putting ads on them.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Strange trackbacks from YahooThis doesn’t look benign to me. Something is afoot. Too many people are getting these. I think they are trying to get a comment approved using a benign link and then use the approval status to post spam. This will bypass the requires a previously approved comment clause.
What do you think?@macmanx Sorry about that 🙂

In reply to: How to insert a copyright statement on each post?I provide a WordPress plugin to add copyright message to each feed item of a feed (rss or atom). The actual message is customizable.
I can simply change (add just an exclamation mark) the code to make it display the copyright message per post on your blog if you so want. You can do it yourself too.
BTW: I wonder why would you want to do it?
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Five plugins you can’t live withoutI have written all my plugins primarily to scratch an itch, mine. So I love them all unquestionably and use them in my blogs –
Referrer Bouncer – bounce back referrer spammers causing them to spam themselves,Plugin for Permanent Redirection of Posts,
Feed Copyrighter to add copyright messages to your feeds,
No NoFollow Plugin to eliminate nofollow from comments,
Unavailable Plugin to make your blog temporarily unavailable for maintenance,
Translator Plugin to provide translation of your blog in eight languages,
AdRotator Plugin- Ad Rotating Solution for your Ads (including AdSense),
Admin Dashboard Hack to make it leaner and faster.
There are few other essential plugins I use but haven’t published yet on advertising, intelligent related entries, intelligent most discussed list, yahoo related entries within blog etc.
I also rely on several external high quality plugins. I will mention the top five off the top of my head, in no particular order:
Paged Comment Editing – Good for managing blacklisted comments, and in general managing comments. Its cousin, Enhanced Post List created by the same cold forging technique is also recommended.Search Hilite – Highlights your search keywords; wish there was a way to turn it off by end-user.
Google Sitemaps – Creates Google SiteMap. However I use a significantly enhanced version.
Hashcash – Comment Spam prevention plugin
Wp-Cache 2 – Speeds up WordPress by caching responses. Has some caveats but it is a Gem.

I am happy to know it finally worked for you.
Personally I heavily use my new aggregator to read all kinds of feeds, well categorized and indexes.

In reply to: Plugins page and Dashboard brokenDo you really care for the feeds?
If yes, why not subscribe to them using your RSS reader? If no, why not use my Dashboard hack? It is much faster than the default Admin Dashboard.

Don’t get me started on Spam Karma please. It is known to prevent many legitimate commenters. It also provides rather offending messages to users, much toned down from SK 1, but still offending at times. Also several users faced configuration issues with Spam & referrer karma plugins.

Why am I saying all this? Been on the wrong end of the stick once too many.
