In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Thank you for this!Hi p_g_v_w, thank you very much for leaving such a positive review.
As for sorting / listing the posts the plugin uses the sorting offered by WordPress. Unfortunately I know of no such WordPress functionality, so therefore my plugin does not support it either. What you could do, is create for each post a custom field, and put in that field your title, without the words you want to skip. Then, sort the posts in the menu by your custom field.
Hope that helps!
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Works with 4.1 (as far as I can tell)“I had and have v1.0 installed, currently WordPress 4.1.1. But I see the Plugin Page now says that :)”
Thanks! 🙂
cfbgraphs: I’ve updated the screenshot. Also, I’ve checked in a fix for your bug report in the Dev version. Thanks for reporting, could you grab the Dev version and check if this fixes it?
For everyone else reading this: If you have a new, different issue, please open a new thread, I can’t keep track of everything if it’s all jumbled together.

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Works with 4.1 (as far as I can tell)Hi brangelo,
I’ve just checked in a possible fix for the bugs you reported. Could you grab the latest development version and try it out to see if this fixes the problems you’ve reported in your first post? I’m kinda hoping it also fixes the second, please let me know.
Kind regards,
DianaWell, it took longer than expected but today I added the described hook wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields. I’ve briefly tested it and it seems to work well. The functionality is now available in the latest Development version. galladiflo and Tom, can you install the Dev version and tell me if it works as expected for you?
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Works with 4.1 (as far as I can tell)Hi brangelo,
thank you for reporting this.
I’ve reproduced your first comment and will see if I can find some time to fix this.I don’t know what you mean by the second. Can you tell me which menu structure to build, what to click and what I should then see/not see in terms of css classes?
Kind regards,
DianaHi deadpeasant,
as I’ve mentioned in other threads, I will not be spending money to test compatibility of my free plug-in with a paid theme/plug-in. Please contact the authors of the Enfold theme.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] List all posts of CPT vs CPT Taxonomy.Hi both,
wescht, thank you for your input on this as well.
David, the plugin indeed intends to offer functionality to list all posts of a Category, Tag, or custom taxonomy. If I understand correctly, you want to list all posts of a Custom Post Type. (As opposed to listing all posts of a Taxonomy.)
If you look at Appearance > Menus, the left sidebar does not offer any functionality that mirrors “Categories” or “Tags”. That is, there is a “bring me to a page with all posts in this Category/Tag”, but there is no “bring me to a page with all posts of this Custom Post Type”. In other words, there is, like wescht points out, nothing to attach your desired behavior to.
“So in order to use your plugin to list ANY Bios, I would need to at least register a default taxonomy for my Bios CPT.”
If I understand correctly what you want, then yes, your best bet is to create a custom taxonomy for your Custom Post Types.

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Works with 4.1 (as far as I can tell)Hi wescht,
thank you for testing. If you would be so kind, please confirm that you’ve used the latest Development version. If so, you’re the final beta tester I needed in order to release v1.0! 🙂
Kind regards,
DianaSheesh, nevermind, flu is messing with my head. Got it, will fix it later this week.
Hi galladiflo and Tom,
firstly, Tom, thanks for responding. I’m looking into it, but I’m still not quite sure what I’m supposed to do in the action. Your walker_add_fields method does not add anything to anything, it outputs markup.. Could you clarify?
galladiflo, I’ll see what I can do. I’m not eager to put in much more functionality, but if I can add support in a simple way I will. As mentioned in other threads, I’m in need of beta testers for version 1.0. Can any of you grab the latest development version and test it?
Kind regards,
Diana
