In reply to: I am being hackedIf this is not the right forum for this problem, please advise. The lack of response is frustrating. I realize, and appreciate, that all are volunteers. But just a suggestion as to where to go for a solution would be a help.
I don’t know how to rightly define the fact that, aside from my front page, any attempt to go in archives or to reach my site by outside links produces 404s. I can post to my site, add links, but everything else is screwed up. Is it hacking, a malicious script, a bot attack of some sort? Is it a result of upgrading to 2.6?
If I know what to call it, I’ll approach my host with it.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: I am being hackedMy site is just pages of 404s. If this forum can not help me, will someone at least let me know I am in the wrong place. I am not computer savvy and if I posed the question the wrong way, then just please just say so and direct me where i need to go.

In reply to: I am being hackedHi,
Not sure why there is no response here. I am wondering now if i did something wrong when upgrading to 2.6, though the weird script showed up before then. Someone said the site was under a bot attack. I have no idea whether this forum can help me or if i have to talk to my host.
Any counsel here would be appreciated.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wp-comments-post.php: 412 Precondition failedRoadsassy.com is my blog. Sending Hosting Matters your questions about mod_security, they responded with this, which, i guess, means I can’t use the word socialism in my titles or posts. or something. Does this mean I am going to be deluged with spam?
Yes, we do run mod_sec on every server. The problem is the word “socialism” in your post title. It contains the word “cialis” which is a favorite spammer subject, as you might know. I do not want to completely exempt your site from mod_security scanning, as that will mean you (and the server) won’t have that added layer of protection against the evil spammers, but there’s really no other way around it. Site exempted.
