The client was freaking out about the non-loading of NextGEN so I had to replace the background image with a static image until the issue is resolved. Since the site is live, the client does NOT want me to deactivate other plugins. Can you give me any hints as to what plugins to look for? Or would I be better off loading the previous version of NextGEN until the issue is resolved? I see other people are having issues with the latest update.
This issue happens using the Twenty Fifteen theme as well.

In reply to: Removing comments section from themeI use the “Disable Comments” plugin by Samir Shah and that has solved the problem for me. You can choose pages, posts, or media to turn off comments to, or any combination of the three.
It was an upgrade, and it was upon activation. (I know it’s not WordPress…what a cop-out on CC’s part. I was on hold with them for almost 1/2 hour, and they had no answer for me.) I have deleted it, but haven’t had the time yet to re-install. I will keep you posted.

In reply to: Visual Editor WordPress 3.1I am having the same issue with my sites. AND, the html in the visual editor is white, so you can’t even see it. I’ve had to postpone showing clients how to use the dashboard because of this.
