Little concerned though as I have made so many changes that if I update the plugin i will lose everything …or are there changes I can make once you have solved it without doing an update?

Well the duplicates are coming from real users, using all sorts of browsers, personally I’m on OSX Safari/Chrome… sometimes the issue doesn’t appear but 90% of the time it does. Its not the end of the world but we have built sites like the example for Polo and E Class and want to do other models. I really need to fix this issue before i make any more sites …otherwise its going to be pretty difficult for the admin team.
I did think about incorporating another type of form plugin but then it wont tie up with the car the user has selected so that wont work either!
As for the code, let me know what you wanna see and i’ll get it over to you! Its all your groundwork after all 🙂

Was just browsing the forum for when an update might be available and what might be included on it… Jay? Hope you’re keeping well! Particularly after a few more bits on the search form section such as engine size and trim/derivative 🙂
I cant help you bluessence on items 1 & 3 of your post, not atm anyway. But item 2… You need to set up a ‘location’ and assign each vehicle to that location when adding a new vehicle (you can have more than one location btw).
Once you have assigned the car to a location, go to ‘Contact Settings’ and there is an option for each location to ‘show prices on new/used’. Change these to yes and save and it should show the prices… assuming you have entered them on the listing page and have set the condition to new or used.
Maybe of some use to you? If not then let me know and i’ll re-think …not claiming to be an expert but I have been working on the same issue myself.

Hiding prices would be most useful for the client I am working on a new site for! Glad its going on the list! Even if it is just a link saying ‘See discounted price’ (or something to that effect) which takes them through to a form they have to complete before being shown the price. That way the customer has to give over some info before getting a good price on their new car! Perhaps this functionality would be optional as some users may not want it, depends on their requirements I guess.
The search functionality development would also be very useful as it forms the main function of the site, I think anyway.
I’m quite happy to hide the new/used section via CSS as it may turn out that the client decides to do ‘nearly new’ stock cars as well, just wondered if you had any plans for that section.
Regarding the shortcodes, nothing specific in mind apart from the fact that I can only find a way to display pages/functionality via widget areas… or did i miss something? I really like the demo site’s functionality, just need to work out how to reproduce it on my clients site ;0)
I know how you feel with an overloaded schedule so no worries, this is a freelance project for a company I used to work for so I’m finding it difficult to find the time too – who’s idea was it to only put 24 hours in a day huh ;0)
If I do get some time I will have a look at some of the functionality (especially the search stuff), if I do anything that may be of use to you then i’m happy to send it over.
