I haven’t changed any settings, but after one of the updates, thumbnails at my site got broken – http://zakupek.pl/test/sluchawki/recenzja-earsonic-sm3-v2/ . Any clues what might be the cause and how to fix it?
Hey, thanks for reaching out, I’ll gladly help!
Hm, this does sound a bit weird, I must admit, especially since we haven’t changed anything with our thumbnailer (the one responsible for extracting your images into your thumbnails).
Are the images in your blog posts saved on your server (in your Media Gallery) or are they linked to somewhere else? Have you made any recent changes on how you insert your images into your blog posts? Do you use any special plugin for managing your images? If so, which one?
I’m sorry for all these questions, but I’m very eager to help you out here.
You can also switch to the previous version of our plugin, which seemed to work normally for you; you can get it on the Developers page. Here’s the link:
Either way, do let me know what’s up & I’ll do my best to help you out! Take care & have a nice day!
silvoslaf, it’s true that I host my images somewhere else and add HTML code manually, however it’s not correct about thumbnails – that’s the only thing I keep at WordPress’ media gallery. As I wrote before, I haven’t changed any settings, but suddenly thumbnails got broken and some default ones are displayed.
Hm, really weird. Does the problem persist if you switch back to the previous version?
If only I remembered which one that was. Besides, I’d like to use the newest available version 🙂 Where do thumbnails at my site come from? Aren’t these default ones, somehow included with the plugin?
I have the same problem!
When I return back to version 2.7 everything is fine.
Hey @homzik, it seems as if this version of our thumbnailer somehow doesn’t extract your images correctly, which is definitely something we have to worry about. But unfortunately we cannot address this issue any earlier than in two weeks, since the head developer of this plugin is currently in vacation.
We also have to admit that this has now been an ongoing issue with our plugin, which is definitely something to be worried about. This is now something we will have to re-evaluate & fix it ASAP! Please bear with us.
In the meantime, I can offer you two suggestions:
1.) remove the current version of our plugin and install the previous, working one, or
2.) try out our other related posts plugin called ‘Related Posts by Zemanta’, which is basically identical to the one you are already using, but it’s using a slightly different thumbnailer, which seems to be working with users who are experiencing problems with this current one. You can find it over here:
In any case, please do let me know what you think or if you have any kind of questions — I’ll do my best to help you out! I’m looking forward to your reply!
Take care & have a nice day!
Same problem here. 2.7 works. 2.9 doesn’t. I’ll be following this thread closely.
My thumbnails aren’t showing either (in version 3.0 or version 2.7). I have all my blog images in a folder on my server, and I manually enter them into each post with html.
Hey Brad, hey @amandyrea, would you please be so kind and send us the links to your blogs so that we could have another look at what might be the cause of your problems?
We’re just about to revamp our thumbaniler, but we’d also like to collect as many thumbnail issues as possible, in order to get it right this time. Any help is more than appreciated!
Take care & have a nice day!
