• Hello,

    I installed the hustle opt-in with Emai-service Mailchimp in my worpress site. I use several test email adresses for testing the opt-in.

    I have unsubscribed 1 email adress via my own email as a reply on a campaign test of Mailchimp, because I thought I can use it again for testing in the opt-in plugin Hustle.

    My problem is that I see now the error message ‘this email has already subscribed’ on my website when I try to subscribe in the opt-in with the unsubscribed email adress. How can I change this en is this errore message from Hustle or from Mailchimp? Thank you very much for a reply

    Hello @geniet-van-gezond,

    That error message comes from MailChimp. Hustle communicate with MailChimp with API (API of the MailChimp).
    MailChimp does not allow to re-subscribe the same email to list when API is used.
    Right now your only option for that email address is re-subscribe it manually.

    If you want to test subscribing to lists in MailChimp you should be able to use + sign in your email:
    Your email is: myemail@gmail.com
    Test email: myemail+testinghustle@gmail.com

    using +word allows to reuse the same email many times.

    Thank you very much for your reply. I understand a part of the solution. I only don’t understand how I can see the results in the testmail, I don’t have an inbox for it, or does I?

    The test emails using a plus sign will be sent to your regular inbox. No need to set up a separate inbox. I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any further questions.

    I saw a couple of hours later the result (I wrote the last mail in this forum too early) in my own inbox, adressed on my own account (I subscribed the form with the test account). So when I tried after this result to subscribe with my own account I again get the message “you are already subscribed”.

    Today I tried to test the form again with the test account. I don’t understand it, but I get also the message “you are already subscribed. Ihaven’t confirmed untill then.

    In my mailchimp list, none of the accounts (not my own mailadres and not the test account) is known. How is it possible? With the second-method verification I really subscribed to the list and I deleted again my own account (and not the test).

    Now I subscribed again with the testmail, that went correct. With my own mail, I get the errror message again. It takes a while before I get the confirmation mail, is that correct?

    So, a few things I don’t understand:
    * is it normal it takes a while for getting the result in my own mailbox, when I use a test account?
    * is it normal I get an error message when I use my own mailaccount after I used the test mailaccount?
    * is it normal I get an error message before I confirmed the form subscription?
    * is it normal that I am subscribed to the form with my own account, wheb I subscribed the form with the test account
    * Can I use the test account with an automation workflow process in Mailchimp?

    May questions, I hope I have been clear enough because english is not my own language and IT is not my core business… 🙂

    Hello @geniet-van-gezond,

    You can’t subscribe twice the same email address to MailChimp using plugin like Hustle. Even if you unsubscribe email from list you will not be able use it again, because this is MailChimp restriction.

    yes, this is can also happen with non-test accounts, sometimes it takes time till message from mailchimp is delivered.

    As I wrote above, if you ever used your email to subscribe, you will not able to use the same again. Reason that you see that error is not related to fact that you used once test email and then normal email.

    Yes, even it was not confirmed email is already passed to MailChimp, to avoid situation where the same email will be send there multiple times.

    I’m not sure I understand this question correctly. Can you explain it more?

    Test account (with + sign) works the same as normal email, you can use it in the same way.
