WPMU and root directory

There are few things “obvious” to everybody it seems? But not to me 🙂
Mu WPMU root is here: ~/home/username/public_html
I have WPMU situation … what are the “WP Install” and “Site Root Directory” in the WPMU case case?
In essence I do not care about both of those. I want all of my uploaded files to be outside of those two. This is what I want:
/home/username/fileaway/
to be my root folder for File Away
Am I missing something obvious here?
