When I use the Jetpack plugin it gives me this problem. https://i.imgur.com/Ts3kuLo.png
I temporary disable Defer Javascript in wp-admin -> settings -> perfmatters -> assets , so it wouldn’t show the problem.
Please help me resolve problem. Thank you!

  • Hello, there.

Can you tell us if there is an actual error or problem on your site that the public can see, or is this only happening in your browser’s inspector tool?

Also, would you be able to try disabling all other plugins except for Jetpack to see if the issue continues? If everything looks normal while doing so, then you can switch on each other plugin one by one until you see the problem happen again.

If you still see the issue even with all other plugins disabled, could you also try switching out your theme for a more minimalistic one (such as Twenty Twenty One) to make sure this isn’t some sort of theme conflict?

Please let us know the results of the above troubleshooting and we can go from there. Thanks!

    Hello!
Previously, I temporarily disable Defer Javascript. I have re-enabled console errors on my site.https://dev.thecrownchoice.com
    (Basic Authentication :
    -username: jaejun
    -password: jaejun
On my site, was able to see the error showing on the console.
Could you please help me check again? Thank you!

Ah, thanks for showing me that – Jetpack is unable to connect with a site that is behind basic authentication.

You would need to remove that in order for us to be able to reach out to your server properly, or you would need to test Jetpack out on the production version of your site.

Yes, Yes, If I turn off Basic Authentication and connect to JetPack plugin on the dev site, Could you please help me check for errors (wp is not defined) on that page? Thank you!

    Hi @tuanvm

I’m not seeing the error on your site at the moment. I checked in the console and saw no JS errors referencing what you reported. Do you need to enable another plugin for the error to show? If so, we’ll need to have that plugin enabled.

That said, if Jetpack is enabled at present but the plugin that triggers the error isn’t, then the issue is likely with that plugin and not Jetpack.

Additionally, I am not seeing Jetpack as connected. Since it is a Staging/Development site, please enable Staging Mode and try reconnecting:

    Hello @tuanvm

Could you deactivate the media files minification from the dev site, so we can test it again, please?

Let me know if you have any questions.

    My best regards,

    Michelle

    Hi @tuanvm

I do see the errors in the console. Could you turn off file aggregation in WP-Optimize and see what that does?

    Hi @bruceallen!
How do I turn off file aggregation? I can’t find a place to turn it off.
Could you please help me? Thanks!

    Hi @tuanvm,

Per this support thread, you should be able to do that by disabling the option “Enable merging of JavaScript files” in WP-Optimize > Minify > JavaScript.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi @erania-pinnera!

When I disable Defer Javascript in Settings -> Perfmatters -> Content (https://ibb.co/d7k6QN0) the error doesn’t show up anymore. But doing so will affect performance web site.

    Hi @tuanvm

We can’t troubleshoot issues caused by other plugins, but you could try using the ‘Exclude from deferral’ setting as shown in your last screenshot, to exclude Jetpack js files and see if that helps.
