This problem may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to deactivate all plugins and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-Three theme. If the problem goes away, re-activate them one by one to identify the source of the problem.
If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to deactivate all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re still logged in without affecting normal visitors to your site.
Dear James,
Thank you for your quick answer. I did what you said and downloaded the Health Check. First it should me some plugins I needed to update. I updated all of them. Did not change anything.
Then I did “Troubleshooting” which deactivated all plugins. With that the loading worked as it should. Then I activated one plugin after another and checked everytime if it loads slower again. I did it until all plugins and our (Salient) theme were activated again. The site still worked well, so I cannot say that a plugin caused it!?
I left the “Troubleshooting” mode and again the loading is super slow… So what else can I do? Somehow it has something to do with the plugins but even after activating all of them, in troubleshooting mode everything is fine – back in normal mode the problem is back…
Please help 🙂
Does the issue return with the Troubleshooting Mode disabled and the Health Check plugin deactivated?
Yes, it does. It is back even with the Health Check deactivated :/
Ok, you’ll have to do this without the Troubleshooting mode then.
