For .net you need win – I assume. But WordPress will not work properly on godaddy’s Win server. At least according to the reports in this forum.
On other Win servers it might work – but not the permalinks with .htaccess and mod_rewrite etc. which are non-existent on Win.
Ok i own a blog and it is Make Money Online kind of blog. I am switching from wired2host.com server to godaddy and my provider told me to make sure that godaddy will support my database or i might need to reconfigure my database. How can i find out.

FYI, We’ve tested using permalinks on a Go Daddy Windows shared hosting account, and it does work. The PATHINFO suggestion from the WordPress help article does the trick – put /index.php/ in front of the permalink string.
@flipsideinc, You can import a database into a Go Daddy hosting account. You’ll want to get a .sql file, not a .bak. Just create the database from the Hosting Control Center, then follow these instructions for importing the data:

Do Not get a windows server to run wordpress.
yes you can get “almost pretty” permalinks to work, but who wants index.php in their url? Also windows has other performance issues and quirks.
Anyone reading this – get a linux server at godaddy – or anywhere- to run wordpress or any other php/mysql scripting software. The installs are cleaner, quicker and trouble free. Performance as a whole is better.
