    Uninstalled my plugins one by one but could not resolve the problem
    I also install the wp health check and could not find anything

    What should I do?

    Have you also tried switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins)?

    I have deleted all wp default themes long time ago but I try with other themes and it’s still the same. No changes

    this morning the error message has changed to something along the lines of

    “Your PHP code changes were rolled back due to an error on line 195 of file wp-includes/widgets/class-wp-widget-media-audio.php. Please fix and try saving again.

    Call to undefined function wp_underscore_audio_template()”

    Please, what should I do?

    If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Hope its ok to hijack this thread instead of starting a new one. I too am having this issue with all my websites – wordpress 4.9.4. They are hosted on SITEGROUND. I have De-Activated ALL plugins and reverted to TwentySeventeen theme and still get the same problem.

    I have tested this on PHP v 7.1.1.4 and 7.2 with the same result. Siteground support has made an attempt to check all logs, errors and configs and find same problems.

    I have installed and run WP HEALTH CHECK with all plugins de-activated and i get the following errors:

    Background Updates: The WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE constant is defined and enabled.
    WordPress security and maintenance releases are blocked by define( ‘WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE’, false );
    Loopback Request: The loopback request to your site failed, this may prevent WP_Cron from working, along with theme and plugin editors.<br>Error encountered: (0) cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes recei

    I also have a few websites at GoDaddy, also running wp 4.9.4 and i cannot edit theme .php files there either but i get a different message – Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.

    Heres a image link showing example.. Scrape Nonce failed…

    Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

    No! If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. A lot more people will see your post this way.

    The inability to save or edit main theme PHP files, especially after successful upgrade to WordPress 4.9 and higher. However, an absolute and instant fix has been tested and provided, based on my research.

    This article helped me out, via https://prexblog.com/error-fixed-wordpress-inability-to-edit-and-save-theme-php-files/

    And am free.
