So I’m building a new website on a local server and I encountered a very odd problem. I imported the database from the old website to preserve all of the old blog posts. I realized after I set up the fresh WP install that this pulled references to images in the media library but without the actual uploads folder. I spent 3 hours downloading the massive uploads folder and put it on the local site then did a wp-cli find and replace in the database to change all references to the old url to the new url and voila suddenly my blog pages had their images being pulled successfully from the local server.

But there is one weird side effect- all of the images in the media library have no preview and none of them can be assigned as a featured image.

    Any ideas?
