@itziriosuna Thank you for posting the topic! Currently, Web Stories is supported by Google Ad Manager. Please visit this document for a guide on how to advertise in Web Stories.
hi @luckynasan
Thank you very much for your reply, however, what I’m looking for is how to do it from the google web stories plugin. Is it necessary to modify the plugin to achieve this ads function?
A big hug and thanks again
Hi @itziriosuna ,
We are waiting for the Web Stories format to support AdSense Ads monetization, Currently, the documentation shows that only Google Ad Manager is supported (Link)
We have a high priority ticket to work on AdSense Ads support when it is supported. You can track our progress on this item in this ticket.
I don’t yet know the timing on when the support will rollout, but we will prioritize as soon as it is possible.
Still not clear how to insert an ad on Web Stories, even if it’s Google Ad Manager (as it’s my case), as I’m using the plugin and the whole amp html code is generated by the plugin itself and there’s no option to include the amp-story-auto-ads component and its data.
Can you guys be more clear on how to insert an Google Ad Manager ad on Google Web Stories as I’m using this plugin and not writing the code manually?
Thanks!
Hi @vdberto
We are still working on the whole Ads integration in general. There currently is no option for inserting Ad Manager codes or the like.
If you are somewhat familiar with code, you can install this example plugin and replace /123456789/a4a/amp_story_dfp_example with your slot ID from Ad Manager.
Read https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/9416436 and https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/9038178 for how to set up ad units for Web Stories.
Also, read https://amp.dev/documentation/guides-and-tutorials/develop/advertise_amp_stories/ to learn how ads work in stories in general.
@vdberto @itziriosuna Advertising in Web Stories is now available in version 1.3.0.
There is a monetization field in the Stories settings. Select an ad network (AdSense or Ad Manager) and then enter your publisher ID and ad slot ID.
Please reach out if you encounter any issues. Thank you!
