vimeo 4:3 format
-
Firstly, I’m impressed with your plugin and its clean code. I am using it on my new website which consists of around 50 videos – all are vimeo-embeds.
Your respsonsive vimeo shortcode does a better job than others e.g. wpbakery visual builder, simply because it does not produce thin black borders. This is for 16:9 format. However around half of what I want to showcase has the older TV format which is 4:3. I tried various things but was not successful as yet.
1) I changed the vimeo still picture at the beginning to a 16:9 (you can see this version on the experiment page: http://nedimhazar.com/bogazicine-sigindik) This produces a small line at the top. I contacted the people at vimeo. They said I should use a 4:3 image and code accordingly on my website.
2) I tried using your (self-hosted) video which has a “poster” option, but when I give the vimeo address where the url goes, it picks up the vimeo image.
3) I tried custom coding your “su-vimeo su-responsive-media-yes” css style with width:%75; that doesn’t work at all.
4) I set the embed code in vimeo manually to “<iframe src=”//player.vimeo.com/video/29657328″ width=”1024″ height=”768″ frameborder=”0″ webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>” 1024/768 is 4/3. Your css doesn’t pick that up.I know that a responsive 4/3 video embed is possible. I’ve done it before. Unfortunately without looking at the code.
Can you please help me?
– Either a custom css for 4/3 responsive video or
– An image which I can use from the wp library (like your self hosted video)Thanks in advance for any help,
BestNedim
