Hello,
Have you entered full Analytics code or just the property ID? Try re-entering just the property ID (UA-xxxxxx,etc.) and save. It should solve the issue.

I can’t remember exactly what I did after upgrading as it was a while ago, but like I said, turning the plugin off, reinserting the property ID, and then turning it back on fixed the problem.
Ok, I see. Great that it worked out! Did you experience any other problems while using this updated plugin?

No other problems. I just wrote the OP for others that might come across the same problem. I see now that someone else had the same problem in an earlier post.
I do have a question. On my non-Wordpress websites I just add the GA script manually. In what file does your program put the actual script, as I don’t see it anywhere. Is it added on the fly somehow to the published page?
Tracking code is automatically added to a currently used template’s header file (or footer, if selected differently in the settings).
If you want to do it manually simply follow the path:
/public_html/wp-content/themes/your theme folder/header.php or footer.php

Weird. It is not in either my current theme’s header or footer file, but it is in my live web page. I also checked every other file and it is not there as well. Whatever, at least it works. I was just curious how that can be.
Well, if you use the plugin, you will not find a code there. It is added dynamically by the plugin.

That is why I asked whether it was added “on the fly”. Thanks for explaining that.
Oh, ok. I misunderstood the saying 🙂
