Example (from personal experience):
1. To download a file, such as Trial Trial, a visitor has to fill the request (contact) form.
2. Instead of getting instant download, an email with email verification link is sent.
4. Following successful verification the visitor would be sent another email, this time with the download link.
What a way to irritate potential customer?
I think this is good for (free) membership application, or sign up for (free) monthly newsletter.

We think there are already download related plugins out there handling the scenario in case of download links specifically. But the idea in general sounds interesting. We have lots of things planned for now but we’ll take a note of this and will elaborate on idea when planning new features.
