users locked from content

Hi there, so i installed the plugin yesterday and i’ve been struggling all day today to get it running properly, i have set a list of users to “see” “blocked content” but the content keeps showing blocked to them, even to me, as admin, i am currently using another plugin for “user memberships” called “Simple WordPress Membership” and it has its own feature to lock content as well, but even if i leave the options for that plugin blank or chose “do not protect content” on that particular plugin, the content still gets blocked
