User defined amount
-
Hi thank you for this great plugin.
I’ve set it up but is it possible for the user to enter an amount to pay?
Thanks

Hello @nickrg,
To create a user defined amount button, set type=”donation” in your shortcode.
Regards,
That’s great thank you.
I have a couple of other questions:
Is there a way to make the amount display on the payment button? (using donation)
Is there a way to add to the modal form or payment form so that an extra line of information can be inserted as I would like customers to be able to pay invoices and so add their invoice number.
many thanksHello @nickrg,
This is not possible in the current version of direct stripe.
I am developping a new version with actions and filters that will make this kind of features easy to add but i cannot promise when it will be uploaded to WordPress.org library.
Best regards
Everything is setup and seems to be running, however I just keep getting the error page and nothing seems to register at stripe. The page is HTTPS and the api keys are double checked, shortcode is:
[direct-stripe type=”donation” name=”The Wellington Clinic” description=”General and Specialist Dentistry” label=”Confirm amount” panellabel=”Make Payment”]
I’m not sure what else I can check?
thanks againThe only other thing could be entering the amount incorrectly.
I’m trying to do a live test by paying £1. I enter 1 in the box – is this correct?
thanksSure it’s http://www.thewellingtonclinic.com/payments
Although I added the success and error queries shortcode to it now but it hasn’t made a difference.
ThanksHello @nickgr,
The button is not in test mode, could you create a page for test purposes?
Hi, same page now in test mode
thanksHello @nickrg,
The request chain and body is good, could you tell me what log information do you get in stripe’s admin panel?
Once connected to your stripe panel, turn view test data on, then under API -> Logs there should be errors reported.
Thank you
OK its a 403 because Stripe is not accepting TLS 1.0 and needs it to be TLS 1.2
Is it my hosting that needs to be updated?
Hi @nickrg,
You can ask your hosting company about it, maybe try let’s encrypt or set cloudflare up.
Best wishes
I’m just asking them now – thank you for your help I’ll see what they say!
Stripe requires an ssl certificate to work (I should have realised the issue earlier…).
More and more hosting companies include a free certificate in their offers thanks to let’s encrypt, you can ask yours about it.
Or the free ssl from Cloudflare also works for Stripe…
Best regards,
PS: Hadn’t seen your answer!
