• Absolutely brand new site, no content yet. I updated from 4.10.3 to 4.10.4-beta.2 (was trying to get to 4.10.4) and then TRIED to update to 4.10.4. Update notification is not going away. Tried via WP CLI (three times) and the plugin interface twice. Most definitely a bug on your side. ๐Ÿ™‚

Everything else is updated (running PHP 8.5.9).

    Hi @bearlydoug,

Thank you for reporting this issue. I’ll need to escalate this to our developer to be reviewed further. For the current workaround, please download the latest version of this plugin and upload it to your site to avoid this issue.

    PublishPress Future 4.10.5

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you, @rizaprihananto, for this. Obviously, the plugin update indicator isn’t going to show, since this is a newer version than what WordPress has in its repo DB, but at least the new post indicator within the dashboard area is no longer present.

I’ve run into this before with my own plugins. Usually, it’s a version conflict. Plugin itself has one version, readme.txt has another version. Simple fix is just to make sure both files contain the same version info. Not that I’m telling ya anything you don’t already know. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks again, Riza, for the quick turnaround and temporary fix!

    Hi @bearlydoug ,

Thank you so much for providing the details. We really appreciate it, and any feedback or information is always welcome. So, please don’t hesitate to share your findings. Nothing is perfect, and every piece of feedback can give us valuable insight into how we can improve our products and services.

I’ve escalated this to the developer now, and hopefully we can get it fixed soon.

@rizaprihananto, just an FYI… WordPress updates is not recognizing the new version. It’s still seeing 4.10.3, trying to update to 4.10.4, but installing 4.10.4-beta.2 instead. It’s not even seeing version 4.10.5 at this point. And with 43 of the 90+ WordPress sites I manage for my day job, doing manual updates is not really an effective use of time management for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Same scenario for me… hopefully we’ll see v4.10.5 in the auto updates soon.

Hi everyone, we released 4.10.5 earlier today. If you install the plugin for the first time on a site, that’s the version you’ll get.

There’s currently a delay for existing sites. This is the message we see here on the WordPress directory:

“Version 4.10.5 will be released to sites in about 1 hour. WordPress.org currently delays plugin updates by 6 hours so moderators and security scanners can review changes before they reach users.”

That’s most DEFINITELY a new pivot for WordPress plugins, @rizaprihananto, but I like it (especially as a plugin developer myself). And given some recent issues with other plugins (nothing to do with PublishPress, thankfully), I’m glad they’re now enforcing security reviews. ๐Ÿ™‚

Appreciate the follow up and explanation, Riza! Thank you!
