I have the latest version of File Away running (3.9.6.1). I have a page setup that allows our Membership group to upload signed waiver forms (PDF files). The shortcode is as follows:

    [fileup base=”1″ uploadlabel=”Upload File(s)” fixedlocation=”true” align=”left”]

This worked fine the last time it was used (September 2016) when we had our last membership recruitment campaign.

Recently they tried using it, and this time no ACTION takes place after you select the file, click ADD FILES, then UPLOAD FILES.

This worked fine for over 2 years. Any clues as to what may have caused it to go south?

    Please advise… Thanks

  • Its the base directory that has a wrong path. There should be a / in between the 2 maps which isn’t there and you can’t change it! When you upload a file it sends it to a wrong map.

Have to wait for a solution from it’s maker πŸ™

You can hack the file tho and put the correct path in but future updates will kill it again, so i recommend you don’t do it πŸ™‚

kwv01, please stop spamming the support threads. Your issue is not everybody else’s issue.

    Roger,

If it worked for over two years, and now is not working, I would say something on your server has changed. I need more information about your server, and what might have changed, to troubleshoot. Or if you could provide a link to the page where your fileup shortcode is located so I can test it firsthand.

    Hi Thom,

It worked fine, but there is one change that I made recently (last 2 months). I added a second Base Directory which is configured in the Settings for accessing archived copies of our Newsletter (PDFs). Since then, we are unable to upload files to the first base directory, which is the one I referenced in my initial note above.

By the way, Thom, the second Base Directory is the one I posted another support topic, where I am unable to use the Flightbox attribute, since it seems to block access to certain files in the list. Once I remove the Flightbox attribute, I can display ALL files in the list and access them.

    Hope that helps…

Hi, Roger. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help me troubleshoot. Specifying a second base directory would not interfere with your first base directory. I use all five base directory settings on over two dozen WordPress installations with no issues. The issue is something else.

I’m asking what type of server you are using and what changes may have been made to your server configuration.

Here are the details of our server configuration:

    Apache Version 2.4.25
    PHP Version 5.6.29
    MySQL Version 5.6.34
    Architecture x86_64
    Operating System linux

Not sure what changes were made by the ISP recently…

OK. Can you email me screenshots of your settings page, and also of your shortcodes?

For posterity, this was resolved in another thread here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/unable-to-list-all-files/
