  • I received this explanation from TranslatePress, which they told me that it came from the author of Premmerce Permalink:

“The function that detects custom permalinks in the Premmerce Permalink Manager plugin will not be able to recognize the URI if the slug is translated via TranslatePress.
Secondly, the post translations are not in fact separate posts and they are stored in a different MySQL table.
Concurrently, the custom permalinks are assigned to the posts by their IDs: [123] => sample-custom-permalink-for-post-with-id-123:
The problem here is that the post ID is the same for both original content & its translations. Therefore, there is no technical possibility to save a custom permalink for the translations”

I find it ridiculous not to be able to build a full product path (/parent-category/syb-category/product) as a standard option of WordPress permalinks structure!
