    Hello Support Team,

We are running The Events Calendar on our multisite installation and have encountered a couple of issues related to timezone support:

    1. Enable Time Zone Support Issue:
When clicking the “Update Timezone Data” button, a progress bar appears, but nothing changes. The button remains visible, and we are unable to proceed to select either “Use site-wide time zone everywhere” or “Use manual time zones for each event.”
    2. Timezone Change Issue on a Secondary Site:
On another site within the same multisite network, when we change the timezone, the day shifts as expected, but the event times remain unchanged. Notably, this functionality was working as expected previously but suddenly stopped working.

We have already tried updating to the latest version of The Events Calendar, removed and reinstalled the plugin, and cleared all caches, but the issue still persists.

Could you please assist us in resolving these issues? Proper timezone handling is critical for our event scheduling functionality.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi @georgemichel ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

I have not been able to reproduce the issue about the “Update Timezone Data” button in my local multi-site network. Is this issue happening on the main site in the network? Is the Timezone set to a location-based timezone in Settings -> General -> Timezone?

As for the timezone change issue, we’ve seen a lot of these cases to be caused by caching (see Timezones and Caching). Thus, if the site in question is running caching solutions or if there’s a server-side caching, I’d recommend temporarily deactivating it to isolate the issue.

    Hi @tristan083

Is this issue happening on the main site in the network?
It’s happening on all sites across the network. Any site requiring this button to be pressed is currently not working.

Is the timezone set to a location-based timezone under
    Settings → General → Timezone?
Yes. We need the button to function properly so we can select either “Use site-wide time zone everywhere” or “Use manual time zones for each event.”

What do you suggest we do to make this button work?

    Please note:
The multisite is hosted on WordPress VIP.

    Hi @georgemichel ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

I suspect there’s an underlying error behind the scenes here that could be causing the “Update Timezone Data” button to not complete. Are you able to enable WordPress debugging (see How to Enable Debugging in WordPress) on the network site to determine the error that’s thrown out in the debug log when the button is pressed?
