To clarify, the SiteGround AI Agent plugin is not mandatory and can be deactivated or removed at any time. Ahead of the upcoming changes in WordPress 7.0 and the native AI functionality being introduced in WordPress, we notified customers about our plan to install the plugin as a connector to simplify integration between their WordPress sites and AI providers such as SiteGround AI Studio.
The purpose of the plugin is to make that connection easier and more seamless out of the box. Without it, the setup would typically require installing a separate connector, generating an API key, and configuring the integration manually.
That said, a site crash is definitely not expected behavior, and installing the plugin should not take a website offline. Please submit a support request through your SiteGround User Area so our technical support team can investigate the issue in detail and assist further if needed.
