Templates defaulting to index.php

    My pages were working before, then all of the sudden, my pages starting defaulting to index.php instead of the templates I created. I have the Template Name comment at the top of each page, it shows each template in dashboard page dropdown, I have the template selected and updated, and I’ve tried saving changes in Settings->Permalinks. I’m stumped on what could have caused this.

    You can try the Health Check plugin in Troubleshoot mode. It helps you disable theme and plugins for your user only, so you can see if it’s a core problem or some other code interfering.
