Summarizing post using Black Studio Visual Editor widget

Hi – I’m new to website development. I’m using the Black Studio Visual Editor on all of my pages and posts. Is there a way to summarize a post using the Visual Editor widget? I see the “more” button but when I update and view my posts page, I still see the whole post with no picture. Is there also a way to show the thumbnail on the posts page page using the same Visual Editor?
Just so you know, I’m only using BSVE because it came recommended with a theme I downloaded, and since I already know how to use it, I thought it would be easier to use it in my posts rather than learn a whole new method. Call me lazy. 🙂
If anyone can answer this or point me in the direction of a previous topic that already answered these questions, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
