Three months ago my subscriber counter dropped to 0 and then bumped up to a random number like 30, so I started a topic. Within a few days, I was told the issue was fixed, so the topic was marked as resolved, but I said at the time my numbers still were not correct. Other bloggers said the same thing.

My numbers still aren’t fixed and I’m wondering when they will be. My site is http://www.kellykuhn.com.

At this time, I can no longer remember how many subscribers I had when the problem began. I think 69 or 70. I was correctly told that all of the subscribers were still there, but the counter was simply not working. When I manually counted my subscribers, I found that to be the case.

I have since gained more followers, but the counter only shows 62 followers. Now when I manually add the subscribers listed, I get 62.

I know I have not lost subscribers in that time because I have so few and can check every day. In fact, when I went to count today, I saw that my email address is no longer listed as a subscriber. I didn’t unsubscribe, and I am getting emails.

I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.

You do indeed have 62 followers (40 email subscribers, 22 WordPress.com followers).

In the past, we did display more followers because some WordPress.com followers were counted twice: they appeared in both your email subscribers list and WordPress.com Followers list. We’ve fixed this issue, and the follower counts do not include any duplicates anymore.

That’s exactly what happened to your own email address: in the past it was displayed in both lists, and it is now only displayed in the WordPress.com Followers list.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Ah, yes, that does clarify it. I hadn’t realized that had been fixed. Thanks so much – I appreciate your taking the time to look at this and explain.
