Styling featured image thumbnails for restricted content

Hi all

I have a gallery of featured image thumbnails for posts in a certain category. Does anyone know if it’s possible to style the thumbnails of restricted posts to distinguish them from unrestricted posts (e.g. red border/background)?

The thumbnails are displayed in The Loop in a custom page template. I’ve tried using the if(pmpro_hasMembershipLevel(‘xx’)) php code, but that applies the formatting to all the thumbnails if a user doesn’t meet the membership criteria, not just the restricted ones.

I know that Paid Memberships Pro can single out the restricted thumbnails because it doesn’t display them when I set “Filter searches and archives?” to ‘Yes’. I just don’t know how to tap into that functionality to apply styling instead.

Any help is appreciated.
