    Hello,

Yesterday I did a massive update on my websites. Stupid of course because everytime things stop working. For example one of my favourite plugins – Pinterest lightbox. Instead of getting that lovely lightbox-effect I end up on one of those dull sites “wp-content/upload….”.

    I have
    Wordpress 4.0
    Pinterest lightbox 1.4.6
NextGen Gallery 2.0 – deactivated but not removed because I am afraid that all my 4000 picutures will be lost if I deleate it.
    Plugin X 1.9.21.

Plugin X is a plugin that works just like NextGen Gallery did before the fairly “interesting” update to 2.0 and all the events that followed. I will not write the name of it because I don’t want my post to be removed but the name is similar to NextGen and it is possible to find.

How do I get the lightbox back?

    Kristina,

Pinterest Lightbox relies on NextGen Gallery specifically, your pictures will not load in lightboxes without having NextGen active. Is there a reason you stopped using NextGen?

    Kristina,

Please let me know why you aren’t using the NextGen plugin, because Pinterest Lightbox needs it to function.

Thanks Travis for your quick reply and reminder. I get a bit fed up every time something doesn’t work and leave my websites for a bit and write on paper instead.

The main reason I changed from NextGEN 2.0 into the legacy version of NextGEN 1.9 is that I experienced a lot of troubles when I updated to 2.0. Unfortunately I wasn’t too impressed by how the debacle was handled either. At the moment I can’t even remember all the troubles I had. I wasn’t too unlucky, I could still log into my site but a lof of things didn’t work including the add-on-plugins.

So when a couple of great people took the old NextGEN 1.9, renamned it and started a careful development of it I changed into that. For some time all the NextGEN add-on-plugins contiuned to work but I guess that you guys now have adapted your plugins to NextGEN 2.0 rather than NextGEN 1.9.

I guess that if I got an older version of your plugin it would still work fine at my website?

    Kristina,

Correct. If you are using a NextGen version older than 2.0, then you will need to use an outdated version of the plugin. I recommend using version 1.3

    Thanks,
    Travis
