Stats documentation

When searching for documentation/features explanation for the Jetpack plugin, I am presented with this page. However, the link provided is documentation specifically for stats in WordPress.com blogs. Parts of it are different and it’s not clear which parts I can assume apply to the WordPress.org plugin. Is there another page to which I should be referring?

Since it’s leading to one of my posts, but not via the WP permalink, would it just be added to total views? Or should it show up as a referrer?
