statement descriptor / company name change

    I have a different description in my customer bank account than the statement descriptor in the stripe plugin backend says. In the plugin it is “OnlineLessons.tv Payment” but the description in the charge in the bank account begins with “EMAIL ONLINELESSONS TV EREF…”. It looks like the email address will be used instead of the statement descriptor. Is this right or how can this be?

    Another questions: where do I set the receiver of the money/company name? Our name changed and in the bank account of the customer still appears our old company name.

    I just tested this myself and the descriptor matches exactly what I set in the plugin settings. Enable Debug Mode and check the [statement_descriptor] field in the logs.

    Strange. This field is empty either in our staging page with some plugins and an advanced theme or a “clean” installation with just the necessary plugin (WooCommerce, Stripe) and a standard theme. It shows in the log: [statement_descriptor] =>
    That’s it. In both installation the statement descriptor is set in the Stripe tab under WooCommerce.

    is this probably an API version problem? We are still using: 2017-01-27

    You could try the latest 2017-12-14 API and check if the behaviour persists? if the [statement_descriptor] is still not showing up then This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins except WooCommerce/ stripe, and switch to the default Twenty Seventeen theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.
     
    If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site

    I just updated to the latest API 2017-12-14 and tried this in an installation with the latest Twenty Seventeen Theme and WordPress 4.9.2 and as a plugin only Woocommerce and your plugin but I still get [statement_descriptor] =>
    There is not the descriptor shown like in the plugin configured if I use SEPA debit payment but if I buy the product with credit card the statement_descriptor has an entry in the log file, so the problem is with the SEPA payment method. Any further idea?
    Shall I open a ticket on WooCommerce to give you the login data?

    Just updated to your plugin update 4.0.4 but the statement-descriptor for SEPA payment is still empty in the log file (means the customer doesn’t see the right statement descriptor configured in the plugin but the email address of our company what probably is the default in Stripe). Any news to that?

    I have only WooCommerce and your plugin running and the Twenty Seventeen theme with WordPress 4.9.2. Probably interesting to mention that I am using the test-mode API keys in Stripe.
