    Hi,
I’ve created a staging copy of a site and when i click on “Confirm Safe Mode”

    It gives me error saying:

    “Something went wrong: Try Again”

Clicking on Try Again does nothing.

i can see similar posts here but no solutions.

    Any suggestions?

Thank you for contacting us about this unusual error message, @robp21!

We’d like to take a closer look, but need your site’s URL to do so. Please share it. Thank you! 🙂

    Hi,

This is the staging site URL:

    https://staging1.fwaw.parrion.co.uk/

    thanks

Thanks for that – but we don’t see that Jetpack is active on the staging site?

Can you also give us the URL you created the staging site from? If you didn’t disconnect Jetpack before copying to staging, that’s when the “safe mode” messages pop up. If you have Jetpack disconnected during that step, you’ll avoid that altogether.

Jetpack saves a blog ID and a token (think user name and password) in the database when you first connect that is unique to specific URL. If you’re cloning a live, active, connected site to a new site, then the new site is trying to interact with WordPress.com using the original site’s information. This can cause a whole slew of issues – one of which is the safe mode notice.

Let us know if you have any questions. Otherwise, we’ll wait to hear back from you!
