• Hi there,
For some reason, Sitekit is showing that my site has had zero visitors.
I got a status email from Google, that my site had over 600 visitors (new shop).
And Google Merchant also states, that there has been visitors.
Analytics on Google, doesn’t show visitors either – but I double-checked in the Analytics setup-section on Sitekit – is is the right property info that is shown. Also, if I use the AI guide to add the Google Tag, it also states that the tag already is active and running.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi there @nicohobbygaarden, thanks for opening a support topic. I have checked your site using https://tagassistant.google.com/ and can see that consent is not being granted even when I am giving consent on the page.

I’d suggest checking our consent mode page which guides you through setting up consent mode with Site Kit using one of the suggested CMPs. This should help to manage user consent and once configured you should start to see Analytics data coming through. If you’d like me to check your site once more after you’ve configured this then please let me know and I’d be happy to do this for you.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for the speedy reply – It would be great if you could check if I enabled consent correctly!

@nicohobbygaarden Have you followed the steps in the consent mode page I shared above? I’m still not seeing consent being managed as I would expect it to be.

Please can you share your Site Health information and I can review your setup to see if anything stands out. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.

I followed the steps as the guide told me 🙂
I sent Site Health info on the form, as you suggested.

@nicohobbygaarden Thanks for sharing all the information. I can see from your site health that you have a significant number of plugins active on your site. It’s entirely possible that one of these is causing a conflict that’s having an impact on the consent being captured on your site. Here’s a few things you can check first.

    1. Are you using the Cookiebots own Google consent mode option? This will be named “consent mode v2”. If so, try disabling this as it can conflict with Site Kits own consent mode configuration.
    2. Do you notice a difference when temporarily disabling your CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance Plugin?
    3. I see you have a number of optimization and caching plugins (Jetpack, W3 Total Cache, WP Fastest Cache). If you temporarily disable these plugins, do you see any difference in Analytics data?

Once again, I can check for you after you’ve performed the tests above if that would be helpful to you. Just let me know if you’d like me to do that.

I did everything you suggested in 1, 2 and 3. It would be great if you could see if it made a difference.

@nicohobbygaarden Unfortunately the consent is still not updated as I would expect to see once I have granted my consent on the site. If possible, could you temporarily disable all plugins except for Site Kit on your site? This way we will be able to see if the cause is a plugin conflict and if it is you can enable other plugins one by one until you find the conflicting plugin.

We have also seen browser extensions cause conflicts in these cases so we can also test that if need be. Let me know if you can disable the plugins and I can check for you once again.

    Hi again,

I don’t know what did the job, but suddenly traffic is being tracked.
In terms of disabling all plugins i’m kind of unsure and slightly hesitent about doing this on an active/live shop :/

    (@adamdunnage)

@nicohobbygaarden That’s good to hear that you are starting to see traffic again. I totally understand your hesitancy in disabling the plugins on your live site so let’s not do that.

If you are now seeing traffic then I can mark this topic as closed if you’re happy for me to do so. If you do however notice any issues or traffic stopping once more then please feel free to reach back out and we can continue to troubleshoot the issue.

    Hi again,
I would definetely like the option to reach out again, if the issue re-appears.

Of course! I will leave this topic open for another week and check back in with you if you haven’t communicated any further issue to make sure all is still working.
