Single event post lost meta information after plugin update
-
For websites and single event posts created with Elementor, after Events plugin update to version 6.4.0 single event posts lost meta information.
This issue was already reported here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/events-template-disappear-when-elementor-plugin-is-active/ but together with another issue that is solved but this issue is still ignored.

Thank you for opening a new thread for this issue. Have you tried the workaround provided on your other thread where you can use the default template? If so, is the meta information still missing?
Also, please provide us a screenshot of the Elementor preview of your event and the URL of that event. We want to check it further on our end.
Looking forward to your reply.
@d0153 I’m using default template and this problem has nothing with templates. All information already provided before.

If created with Elementor, single event does not display meta information. When created without Elementor, it does display meta information.
Events single post without Elementor: https://rayoflightthemes.com/test1/event/test/
Events single post with Elementor: https://rayoflightthemes.com/test1/event/test-event-elementor/
This problem exists in every possible theme, from default ones to premium ones. Problem has nothing with templates and I am using default template.
Here is another example.
- Premium theme with older Events plugin version, page with Elementor, meta information visible: https://rayoflightthemes.com/wordpress-themes/politit-wordpress-theme/event/human-rights-conference/
- The same theme on test website, page with Elementor, no meta information: https://rayoflightthemes.com/test1/event/test-event-elementor/
- The same theme on test website, page without Elementor, visible meta information: https://rayoflightthemes.com/test1/event/test/
Do you have developer who can check these examples?

rayoflightthemes Could you stop with the @ of the use with all of your replies in multiple topics? This is getting to be abusive. You are spaming their inbox with those replies.
All people, me and yourself are 100% volunteers. That includes the plugin support here. You are not their customer so please stop dong that now.
Also? Do not make duplicate topics.
Use the original one.

@rayoflightthemes I missed this part.
but together with another issue
This topic has been re-opened.
After applying the workaround provided here to use the default template, I can see the meta information as expected.
See- https://share.zight.com/E0ueovnR
I am not sure if that’s what you’re looking for. If not, could you provide screenshot or recording on what you see on your end? We would like check the issue further on our end.
This seems to be a solution for the problem! I added “return false;” on 222 line of the file controller.php and meta information appear on single post. But it is difficult testing it with latest problem with Wampserver environment.
When will you add this in plugin update?
We already have an internal ticket that will add a filter that allows users to bypass the Elementor template. Unfortunately, we don’t have an estimated time for when the issue will be resolved, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as a solution becomes available.
Is it possible to overwrite controller.php file or the function in theme like it is possible with some other plugin files?
Hi @rayoflightthemes ,
Thank you for your message.
Could you please provide the relative path of the
controller.phpfile that you are referring to here?Path:
the-events-calendar/src/Events/Integrations/Plugins/Elementor/Template/Controller.phpas explained in this post as workaround for the error: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/events-template-disappear-when-elementor-plugin-is-active/page/2/#post-17804754
Hi @jdembowski ,
Thank you for your message and the information. Apologies as well, as the thread wasn’t visible to me for some reason.
Anyway, I’m afraid the
Controller.phpfile isn’t a file that can be overridden by placing a modified copy of it in the theme folder. At this time only “view” template files (files inthe-events-calendar/src/viewspath) can be overridden.Hi there,
It appears that we haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’ll assume that the matter has been resolved. If you need any more help, feel free to start a new thread and we’ll be happy to assist you.
It is not resolved until plugin is updated with fix for this, please keep topic as not resolved.
It is not solution to add changes in plugin with code snippets. I hope solution will be as soon as possible.
