• Hi,

I installed this plugin an hour ago and so far the related posts it’s chosen are mostly totally unrelated to the article they appear under.

It’s a big site with 30,000+ articles; lots of them are similar to each other and have the same keywords in them, but the plugin is not picking them up as related posts.

I chose this plugin over the others that choose related posts based on tags or categories. There is no way I can add tags to 10 years’ worth of articles, so I wanted a plugin that scans the content and bases related posts on that.

    My questions:

    1. Have I understood it wrong and does this plugin actually work differently?
    2. Given the large database, should I give it more time to pick out relevant related posts?

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Hey,

    thanks for reaching out!
Actually our plugin scans your text as you write and suggests related articles from around the web (to insert into the body of your post – if you wish to) but after you publish your article (or for the ones already published) it finds related posts (unfortunately) based on the title+tags and category.
I can understand that having over 30k articles adding tags is not optimal :/
The only thing I would suggest is that for those recent posts you wrote, to manually adjust the posts you would like to have as related. Again, nowhere near something you wish to have but at the moment this is the only option.

Sorry for the inconvenience, take care and enjoy the day,
    Petra
