Hi @losteineu
If the [wp-rss-aggregator] shortcode is suddenly showing as plain text on your site, the most common reason is that the plugin is no longer active.
Here’s how to check:
- Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
- Look for WP RSS Aggregator in the list.
- If it’s deactivated, simply click “Activate”.
The shortcode should start working again once the plugin is active. If the plugin is missing entirely, you may need to reinstall it from the WordPress plugin directory.
I hope it helps. Please let me know how that goes 🙂

Checked this, the plugin is still active. I never deactivated it!

Good news, the problem is resolved. The shortcode was in a block for individual HTML, not in a text block. No idea how this could happen (I did not make any changes)
Hi @losteineu
That’s great to hear, I’m glad it’s working again!
Thanks for confirming the cause as well. It’s possible that a recent update or a small editor glitch caused the block type to change unexpectedly, especially if the site uses the block editor or a builder. Either way, I’m glad it was an easy fix!
I’ll go ahead and mark this ticket as “Resolved”, but if anything else comes up or you have more questions down the line, feel free to reach out 🙂
