    Hello

    Here is my configuration:
    – WordPress (5.5.1)
    – Genesis Customs Blocks (last)
    – Custom Content Shortcode Version 3.8.6 by Eliot Akira | Auto updates disabled

I would need some help as I think this is either a bug or a misuse on my part.

I created a WordPress page that serves as a reusable component in other pages (easier to change the content at one cost)

this page uses a BlockLab component that displays correctly on this page.

When I call this component (my page) with a shortcode like this:

    [content id = 155]

    Nothing appeared…
Is this due to the Genesis template system.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi @pgk37,
    Thanks for opening this.

Is Block Lab active? It looks like only Genesis Custom Blocks is active, though this support topic is opened for Block Lab.

    Hi @ryankienstra

Thank you for your quick response, I confirm that the Genesis Custom Blocks extension is active.

I migrated from Block Lab to Genesis as recommended.

Should I post my request in another forum?

Do I need to activate the Block Lab extension in addition to Genesis?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi @pgk37,
All good, we can continue the conversation on this support topic.

Unfortunately, Block Lab and Genesis Custom Blocks won’t work at the same time.

Is there a need to have Block Lab active? It sounds like you did the migration.

    Hi @ryankienstra,
    Thank’s for your reply

yes, absolutely, I migrated from Block Labs to GENESIS

Block Labs has been removed from extensions.

The problem is simply to call the content of my component (my page) with the shortcode. (i use “Custom Content Shortcode” Extension)

If I put a “simple text” block, in this page, it is called but not the Genesis block. Is the problem calling via a shortcode and it is not compiled?

    Thank’s for your help!

    Hi @pgk37,
Hm, the block should have been renamed in the migration from block-lab/<your block name> to genesis-custom-blocks/<your block name>.

Is there a need to update the block name in the Custom Content Shortcode plugin? Sorry, I’m not familiar with it.

    Hi Ryan

    Thank you for your reply.

I did migrate the templates to Genesis. Besides, the path to the files are written automatically and for me they are displayed as follows:

    MY_THEME/blocks/<my-custom-block>

Should I change the directory name to genesis-custom-blocks?

I made a small diagram of what I’m trying to do :
    https://ibb.co/VmSQRfQ

[ My page with my Block] -> [ Another page that calls this block via a Shortcode ] -> [ HTML rendering ]

I have the impression that the interpretation of the rendering which does not work through the use of a shortcode, does the Blocks Genesis allow it?

    Thanks for your help…

    Hi @pgk37,
Thanks, the name of the block looks good in your link:

Should I change the directory name to genesis-custom-blocks?

    No, that should work fine.

Did the ‘Custom Content Shortcode’ plugin work with Block Lab?

I see the same issue you mentioned with GCB, but I also see it with Block Lab.

It might be because GCB and BL use dynamic blocks. CCS didn’t work with a ‘Latest Posts’ block.
