    thank you for the feedback.

Yes you understand the social buttons correctly. The social buttons should create a new window that will enable the user to share the contest (with the pictures/texts set in admin prefilled). Javascript is required for this to work.

If you have a javascript error on your site, it might disable this functionality.

    Hi Matúš,

    Thank you for the reply.

I was unable to find any javascript errors, unfortunately (or fortunately :)). I tried using Internet Explorer, but it wouldn’t work either (I normally use Firefox). In IE the confirm email’s link wouldn’t work either.

I then tried Chrome, but the experience was the same as with Firefox. This is the page I have the contest on – perhaps you could see something I don’t?

    Thanks for your kind assistance!

    Best regards,

could you please link us to a page with contesthopper widget again? It is a 404 on the one you linked before.

    Thank you.

Since we need to launch a contest on Tuesday 21 June I trashed that page and tried to find another plugin. Pity, because I really like the look of yours and how easy it is to operate.

I haven’t found another plugin yet so I’ve activated your plugin again and created a new page with the contest that I had created earlier:

    Thanks for checking!

I said 21 June – sorry, I meant 21 January, this coming Tuesday.

    Hi Matúš,

We’ve postponed our launch to tomorrow 22 January, just in case you might have an easy solution for us 🙂

I have 2 issues so far with sharing.

    1. When sharing to Pinterest it does not put the Custom Url on the page. But everything from image to description is correct.

2 When posting to facebook the popup comes with the correct image and description and correct custom url but when you share link. Facebook grabs the image of the root site and removes the description that you put in on the backend but still keeps the custom url.

Have a feeling this is done on the websites. Is there any fix or have you heard of these before.

Your Links On Pinterest May Be Stopping Traffic In Its Tracks

Here is a link explaining that url shortners are being ripped out and the direct site is displayed on pinterest.

sad, they can’t even answer your questions about this very big big problem with Facebook share. I’m about to start a contest with a huge company and Facebook isn’t sharing either. It’s March and no answer since January from them? BAD CS!
