Set a role during register

    Hi !
    I would like to use [wppb-register role=”desired_role”].
    I need to add 3 radiobuttons to the register form , and get the value of the radio selected, for example in $usr_role, and put it like this : [wppb-register role=$usr_role]

    How can I proceed ? What files do I need to edit ? Thank you very much !

    Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out to us.

    To create a custom role and assign permissions my suggestion would be to use the Members plugin. This way you will be able to assign the custom role to new users that are registering using the form generated by:

    [wppb-register role="custom_role"]

    The Radio Field Type is an Extra Field Type available only in Profile Builder Hobbyist or Pro versions.

    Are you trying to create Registration Forms with different fields for different user roles? My suggestion would be to take a look at the Multiple Registration Forms module available in Profile Builder Pro.

    You can test this feature on PB Pro demo install.

    Hey ! Thanks for your reply.

    In fact I’m just trying to add 3 radio-buttons into the [wppb-register] form.
    With these 3 radio-buttons, users can choose their role during the inscription. So if I can edit your plugin to catch the result in a variable, then use [wppb-register role=”desired_role”] with $my_var instead of “desired_role” that would be great and efficient.

    I just wanted to know if it’s possible for me to do these little modifications to your plugin, and if it is, how ?

    Hi,

    In Profile Builder Hobbyist there is an Extra Field Type called Select (User Role).

    With this field type you can let your users select their User Role when they register.

    You can test this field type on PB Pro demo install.

    Hi,

    I am not able to register a user using role parameter in profile builder register shortcode-

    [wppb-register role=”directory_client_user”]

    I have installed members plugin and created role “directory_client_user” but then also user is registered as subscriber and not directory_client_user.

    Please help.
