I’ve tweeted about this with little productive response. I really love SumoMe, but I am so confused by how “Share” works.

I know that you recommend verifying share discrepancies with sharedcount.com. I am finding some issues though, and don’t know how to reconcile them:

With this post, I can see Shared Count gives 8 total shares and matches the SumoMe Share count, BUT my own pin has 21 repins alone. How does that work?

With this post, Shared Count and SumoMe almost match (140 on Shared Count vs 136 on SumoMe), but the post has over 400 views on StumbleUpon itself, which are not getting counted.

Why isn’t Pinterest showing? What constitutes a “Stumble?” Why are there discrepancies between Shared Count and SumoMe, and where are they coming from?

It’s hard to have faith in this particular product (Share; on the whole I like SumoMe) when it’s not accurate. Social proof depends on accuracy, especially when trying to build a following.

    Thanks in advance!
