Hi @boardgamingparent
I’ve taken a look into your site’s source code, and it seems to me that the meta tag is being inserted correctly, for the descriptions specifically.
The pages I looked at and some posts had that tag, so I’d appreciate it if you came back with an example so we can take a closer look.
It’s also good to note that it’s up to the Search engines to honor that meta description; as an example, the Google algorithm can rewrite it depending on some other factors.
Best,
Hi Mehdi,
I sent a response through to this via email with a document attached. Wanted to check to see if you got it.
thanks
I don’t see anything in our ticket system regarding “boardgamingparent.com.”
Would youy be able to try sending in your support quest here instead?
Thanks!
Hi,
Do you mean the original ticket, which is in the first post above? Or do you mean my attachment with the details that Mehdi requested a few days ago?
Hi there. Google may be seeing cached versions of your pages, so firstly I’d suggest clearing your site’s cache to see if that helps (you’d also need to wait for Google to crawl your site again).
However, it’s also worth noting that there’s no guarantee Google will use the meta description from your site in its search results, as explained here:
https://www.searchenginejournal.com/why-google-rewrites-meta-descriptions/370452/
If you check the source code and you can see the ‘meta description’ tag with the correct description in it, then Jetpack has done its job, the rest is up to Google to decide what to display in the results.
Thanks that makes sense, appreciate you looking into it.
