    Hi,

I need help understanding the results in the “Search Words” section.

I thought that what I would find there are the words that people are using that lead them to my site. However, all I see in the results of this report are the titles of the pages themselves.

For example this one shows up a ton:
    LiveLifeFullywithChessEdwards|Yourguidetopowerfulandjoyfulliving.

That simply references the page title and subtitle but in no way reflects the words that someone used to find my site. Clearly nobody typed that in to the search input.

What am I missing? Is there a simple way to see what search words are being input into the different search engines that reference my site? Thanks.

Search words rely on the referring site to set the referred HTTP header accurately, it is an imprecise process at best.

It’s probably happening for one of two reasons:

    – Which ever search engine is referring the link isn’t suppling the search words and instead replacing them with the above text.

    – A spam robot is providing a fake referring header with the above text.
