When I issue a refund or the customer cancels the order the items are not returned to stock.

    Hi @jet256

When you issue a refund to your customer, is this box checked to ensure that the item is being restocked?

This should be reflected in the order notes as well here

    Thank you for the reply.

I don’t have an opportunity to check a box if the customer cancels the order or when a PayPal refund is given.

Is there a way to make it automatic?

    Hi @jet256,

There’s no option for a customer to cancel an order that they have already placed and paid for unless you’re using a plugin like WC Cancel Order, which will actually restore inventory when the cancellation is approved.

If you’re issuing the refund directly from PayPal instead of from within WooCommerce, then you’ll need to manually restore the stock.

If you’re issuing refunds, you should be doing that from with WooCommerce and making sure to restore the stock per Amanda’s directions.
