We have documentation on how to exclude specific pages from your sitemap here https://semperplugins.com/documentation/xml-sitemaps-module/ and here https://semperplugins.com/documentation/post-settings/

    Thank you for your response.

Every time I redirect a page do I have to manually update the XML sitemap? I’d much rather this be automatic.

If you have a feature suggestion you can open a Github issue here. https://github.com/semperfiwebdesign/all-in-one-seo-pack/issues/new/choose
Please note that you must have a free Github account in order to view the link.

Hi Micheal Torbert, Just for clarity, this isn’t a feature that already exists and I need to add it as a suggestion?

You aren’t giving us much info to go on, but if I understand correctly, you want to exclude things from the sitemap based on an arbitrary condition (some sort of redirect you have going on). If that’s the case, you have three options.

    a) open a github issue to request the feature be added
    b) manual exclude the pages via the plugin ui
    c) use the plugin’s API to exclude what you want

    Hi Michael,

As far as I believe, the XML sitemap should update automatically, is this based on pages that are deleted?

We have deleted and 301 redirected pages yet they are still appearing in the XML sitemap. Am I correct to believe these pages should have been automatically removed from the XML sitemap?

If you’re using a dynamically generated sitemap, then that means that the plugin generates your sitemap each time it is requested.

If you’re still seeing deleted pages in your XML sitemap, then I’d first check if the plugin is it generating it dynamically and then check if you have a plugin or theme conflict going on. You can do this by switching to the default theme and deactivating all other plugins besides AIOSEOP, and then reactivating them one by one.

Thanks Arnaud, I’ll check it out
