Thanks for reaching out @suhaib0ahmed. This error may have occurred because the records that Site Kit registered on your site don’t match your current setup. To determine more on this, and ensure your can proceed with the additional permissions, please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- When making the security changes you mention, do you recall having changed your wp-admin path, your site URL or your WordPress files directory since initially setting up Site Kit? If so let me know what changes you may have made.
Once we have the above, we can advise on what troubleshooting steps to perform in order to complete granting permissions.
What you may also wish to do in order for Site Kit to generate your updated site credentials, is reset the plugin. Note that by resetting, you and any other previously connected administrators, will need to set up the plugin once more. You’ll also need to connect any previously connected modules.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Yes, I changed wp-admin. What is the solution, please?
@suhaib0ahmed Thanks for confirming. Have you tried to perform the Site Kit reset? If not could you try this and set up the plugin once more? If that does not work you may need to try first switching your wp-admin path back to what it previously was, perform a Site Kit reset, change back to your new admin path and set up Site Kit once more.
Let me know how you get on with the options above and if you have any success.
Welcome
I actually did a Site Kit reset but it didn’t work
I need change back to your new admin path@suhaib0ahmed If you could try the reset after changing back to the original wp-admin path then this should reset those records on the Site Kit service. You should then be able to make those same changes back to the new admin path and set up Site Kit.
Is this something you can do? If so, let me know the result.
Welcome
No, sir, I cannot do that because I have taken security measures to protect my website@suhaib0ahmed I appreciate that you are unable to do this due to security reasons. What I can do at this stage is request a check on your site records on the Site Kit service to see if there is a mismatch. If there is then I can request that the records are reset which should allow you to complete Site Kit setup once more on your new admin path.
I will request this now and provide the update here once I have it.
I made a Reset Site Kit
I’m waiting for you to confirm what I should do next, thank you@suhaib0ahmed I have requested a check on your records from the internal team. Once this check has been done I will update you on this thread.
Thank you sir, I am waiting
I hope you have a great dayWelcome
Is there any update or new thing?@suhaib0ahmed Thanks for your patience. When checking your site records I can see we have the admin root set as wp-admin. When trying to navigate to https://animaweb.net/wp-admin I get a page 404 error which is to be expected as you say you have updated your admin path. Could you please confirm what your new admin path is set to after your updates?
Could I also check if you encounter the same when following our troubleshooting steps here? It’s possible that there may be a security plugin conflict blocking setup. Let me know if you are able to proceed while in troubleshooting mode.
